and so we drift to sleep
and we Dream…

if sleep should evade us
we will not Dream
we are left to Remember
our Memories
Memories marred by Fantasies
Fantasies inspired by Memories

as a rose will Dream
I will Dream too
It will Remember when
its petals were
safe



to Wake is to Realize
to Realize is to Wake
as a rose will Wake
to Realize it has bloomed
and its petals are
exposed

and when the earth
surely takes them away
a rose will Remember               
and a rose will Dream
of when its petals were
safe
